All vehicles with horse trailers must park in a designated section of the Orestimba Corral area. (People towing horse trailers are strongly encouraged to use a four-wheel drive vehicle with a ground clearance of 8 inches or more. Although the dirt road into the area is in good condition, there are some narrow, steep sections that require fairly good clearance.)
If you plan to pack into remote areas of the backcountry, be sure to register first at the Bell’s Station entrance.
The entrance gate at Bell's Station will be open at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and close promptly at 6:00 p.m. It will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
One night stay: You can arrive any time on Saturday, spend the night, and leave any time before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The fee for one night is $55 per vehicle.
Two night stay: You can arrive Friday afternoon, spend Friday and Saturday nights, and leave any time before 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The fee for both nights is $65 per vehicle.
A shuttle vehicle will be available on Friday afternoon, and all day on Saturday and Sunday to transport people to destinations along Kaiser Aetna Road and back to the Orestimba Corral area.
Guided rides and other activities will be offered on Saturday and Sunday. If your application is accepted, you'll receive a detailed schedule of the activities in plenty of time to make plans. Activities will be posted at the event.
Visitors must be in their vehicles and heading out of the park by at least 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
